Othello has been a play designed and displayed by Sir William Shakespeare (1564-1616), an English poet and playwright, greatly labeled as the greatest and the most contributive writer of his time and beyond. With epic masterpieces of tragedies (Romeo and Juliet) and histories (King John, Richard II) to Comedies (As you like it) and poems (Venus and Adonis), Shakespeare has truly redefined English Literature as we see today.
Othello was written sometime around the beginning of the 16th century that is a play of tragedy, with strong emotions displayed throughout the play, such as racism, love, jealousy and betrayal. The script begins in Venice where Othello begins on a lane in Venice, in between an argument that occurred between Rodrigo, a person coming from elite class and background, and Iago, who is greatly seen as someone with a low profile in terms of money making. Rodrigo has been incessantly being tested of his patience with Iago since he wish to marry Desdemona, but unfortunately, to his surprise and astonishment, Desdemona was married to a general named Othello, who was recently preceded by him on accounts of political promotions and therefore being labeled as lieutenant and at the same time, coming in close connection with Michael Cassio, an inexperienced soldier (according to Rodrigo's views).
The above lead to serious turmoil and fire rose over Rodrigo as to what to do. He then rushed hurriedly to Brabanzio, the father of the girl, and filled his ears by saying that his daughter had been held against her will and has now been married to Othello, the Moor. Cautious and frightened, Brabanzio immediately investigated regarding how is this information true. With the findings that he saw, it was proved that his daughter was missing and with this objective he went out to find his daughter and take off the hands of Othello.
Showing indifference to how Brabanzio felt, Iago then leaves Rodrigo in his misery and goes away before Brabanzio sees him. Brabanzio made all amends and attempts to make significant to find Othello and prove him guilty regarding all the information and evidence he had been informed of and gathered accordingly. At Othello's resting place, Cassio came in hurriedly with an immediate delivery that his assistance and aid was required for the Turkish accusation of Cyprus. When he finds out that Othello is on his way to speak with the duke, -Brabanzio decides to go along and accuse Othello before the assembled senate regarding the notion that Othello had stolen his daughter using magic spells and witchcraft and smothered her into marrying him.
To Brabanzio's shock, the table of the plan turns. The duke and the cabinet both turn sympathetic regarding Othello and his proceedings. He was then given permission to speak on his behalf, where he confessed that he won Desdemona's heart, not by magic and sorcery, but of the adventurous stories that he had been through, the lands he had seen and everything associated with it.
