Introduction

The ethics of an organization is known as organization ethics, which set parameters for organizations (either private, public or not-for-profit organizations) providing, approaches to embrace while responding external or internal stimulus. Organizational culture has its influence on the ethics of the organization and later remains interdependent on it. Organizational ethics are akin to business ethics and organization behavior but it does not fall under the category of business ethics of OB (Boyle, 2001). Organizational values to internal and external stakeholder are being expressed in organizational ethics regardless of regulatory or governmental laws. In this connection, this paper will examine the ethical issues in a non-profit organization Braille Institute of America (BIA).

Brief Description of BIA

BIA headquartered in Los Angeles provides seminars, programs and one-to-one instructions to the community of visually impaired people living in Southern California. The organization is being given aid by the private donors, does not charge a penny for its services. BIA has five centers in different regions, whereas it also operates outreach programs at over 200 different destinations across Southern California. The organization is also a member of BANA. BIA provides aid and support to adults, youth and children with the vision of helping them pursuing an independent life, regardless of their disabilities (BIA, 2013). Braille Institute of America provides instructions for the development of home skills, adaptive cooking, staying connected with the technology and mobility training. Braille Institute of America publishing division publishes The Braille Special Collection, a series of books for children designed to develop reading skills among students.

Discussion and Analysis

The objective of this paper is to reflect on the ethics in non-profit organization to motivate actions, behavioral changes, and a reassessment of the code of ethics implemented by organization. Being ethical is therefore always seek to be at peace with oneself, fighting vices and weaknesses, cultivating virtues, protect and preserve life and nature all to seek happiness.

Non-profit organizations need to use methods of supervision of its processes and society take steps to inhibit abuses by organizations. In my opinion non-profit organizations should be fair with their audience and shall treat them with respect, value them without deceiving them while acting ethically and knowing their responsibilities and fulfill them properly. Valuing employees giving aid and growth opportunities as they often are the card for development of the non-profit organization. Organizational ethics can be the soul of the business to help organizations achieve recognition and value among their stakeholders and donors. Ethics is the science or theory of moral behavior of men in society (Brown, 2005).

Presently, acting in an ethical manner is not only a matter of conscience. It is one of the fundamental requirements for those who want to have a long and respected goal and vision. In seemingly simple choices, many brilliant visions can be thrown away.
