Comparison of Formal and Informal Organizational Structures

Formal organization

It is an intentional structure showing the elements, hierarchy and how to allocate functions within an organization. In his formal part shows clear, consistent and accurate component elements: the interests and relationships that affect the rules that can be set. Once the employee signs the contract, it is mandatory to show the job, people who share their work and who are responsible for their work (Gehman et.al, 2013 pp. 84).

The graphical representation of this structure is an organization, which is a very useful tool to inform members of an organization and third parties (customers, suppliers) on which is the formal structure of the company. The most accepted way to represent the department's organizational charts. Some units called autonomous departments of an organization with elements and specific functions (Schilling et.al, 2013).

The most widespread form of dividing the company is called functional division, which consists of dividing identifying the functions performed within the company (e.g. accounting), appointing a department head. Another way to represent it is by performance areas or territories, thus abandoning the specific nature of the functions to assign the same function to different people depending on the physical site.

Casual Organization

It is the association that develops spontaneously and regularly around individuals who possess positions in the formal association and from the relationships secured between itself and officeholders. It is structured from the relations of fellowship or threat or the development of aggregations casual not shows up in the graph, or any viable formal report (Schilling et.al, 2013).

The casual association is made up of social cooperations and relationships between individuals placed in certain positions of the formal association. Goes out from the relationships and face to face times encroached by the formal association to do the charges.
