Introduction

Organizational change is referred to any changes that occur within an organization. The results of an organizational change may vary from success, experiment, to failure. There are large numbers of ways that can lead to change in an organization. For example: a decentralized organization going centralized or vice versa. In order to ensure success from organizational change, an organization needs to develop and implement strategies for effective organizational change management.

Discussion

Every organizational is likely to change despite of the industry it is running in. Some organizations are found to expand large, while, some organizations are required to down size themselves. Many organizations also seek change in order to modify their vision, either once or more times. Management of organizational change is important in determining the overall success of change. It will enable an organization to change effectively, regardless of the change being made (Stickler, 2011).

Reasons for Change

There are many reasons that can be contributed to an organizational change. Crisis is one of the most important factors that can cause organizational change to multiple organizations. For example: the bombing attacks of September 11 became a reason for change in countless organizations. Financial crisis is an example that contributes to changes in many financial services organizations in an attempt to survive. Gaps in performance are another important factor that causes organizational change. Some organizations are not able to meet their goals, objectives, and organizational requires, therefore, changes are needed to reduce and eliminate these gaps an enable the organization to fulfill its goals and objectives.

Change in technology enables organizations to bring positive changes in an organization along with increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of overall organization.
