In this study Tesco has been adopted as model organization, and in this study the HR practices followed by Tesco would be analyzed, as to observe the importance of human capital in the growth of Tesco, as it is the giant of supermarkets.

In this report human resource policies and practices at Tesco would be reviewed and discussed to understand, how much importance has been given to human resource by Tesco. A model of commitment has been introduced by the organization that offers training and development to all employees. Tesco's model has been proven very effective and successful for the success of the organization. HR has been implemented by the organizations not as the replacement for old-model personnel department but as a change agent. Though evidence collected within UK demonstrate that after the implementation of hr model, organizations replaced it with personnel department. Tesco has been chosen as the model for study as the strategic human resource policies implemented by Tesco had depicted positive results in terms of increase in business. Their approach to train employees has been proven very effective, and provides organization a chance to grow in other markets.

As Tesco operates in a market which is full of competition, where consumer has a lot of choices it is ultimately their human resource policies that has created their distinctive image and take them to new phase of success in supermarket industry. To show the commitment towards customers the slogan of the company is very helpful, which has been used to increase the satisfaction level of customers as well as to reduce the prices.
