Abstract

This paper explores the process of downsizing that is conducted by the department of downsizing in the military. Downsizing takes place to manage cost and it important to manage costs within an organization because accounting for costs related to the acquisition of useful information for the internal management of the company and for decision making Moreover we would discuss the organizational management in the said department.

Chapter I: Introduction

Purpose of the study

The purpose of this study is to explore the process of downsizing that is conducted by the department of downsizing in the military. In any given country, the department of defence is responsible for regulating the finance spent on defense services and also monitors all the related expenses. This activity is very important for any country. One of the most important aspects of any governmental body is good management of cost accounting. It is imperative that governments, regardless of the magnitude, must know all the features and steps in developing the service to the good control of costs applicable throughout the production and expenditure process. In this paper, we would discuss the organizational management in the said department. (Leana, 2009)

Significance of the study

For any country, it is very important to establish coherence between the needs of the defense and the armed forces and the necessary financing for their operation; the necessary reforms have been implemented. Indeed, the financial effort of defense and national security must be consistent with the analysis of the security interests, the risks to the nation and the definition of the necessary means. The department of defense presents the budget for defense and veterans in a breakdown by destination of funds, broken down into missions, programs and actions. (Noer, 2008)

The states are increasingly held annually produce financial statements, subject to the approval of the Court of Auditors. The Ministry of Defense, which represents the majority of fixed assets and inventories of the state, plays an essential role in the accounting quality of the state. As part of the general revision of public policies, and to continue the necessary modernization of equipment and improvement of the status of the military, the Department of Defense was allowed to reinvest all savings under operation.

Thus, to offer its customers get reasonable and affordable prices and obtain higher profitability and revenue potential. It important to manage costs within an organization because accounting for costs related to the acquisition of useful information for the internal management of the company and for decision making. This information can be found in all daily operations of a clearly expressed in cost accounting, which is the administrative and management becoming an essential tool for the consolidation of companies.
