Introduction

Organizational behaviour is the area of study which is related to impact of individual, groups and structure within the organizations for gathering knowledge and improving the effectiveness of organizations. Organizational behaviour or OB is an interdisciplinary area of study that comprises on management, communication, psychology and sociology. Thus it can be said that it is the field of application and study that investigates how people behave in the organization. OB is regarded as human tool that is designed to benefit humans. This tool is widely used to assess the behaviour of people in all types of organizations, for instance government, business, service organizations, and schools. Three determinants are covered by OB in the organization and these are group, individual and structure. Organizational behaviour is an applied field which gathers knowledge of individuals and the impact of structure on their behaviour, and this is done to improve the efficiency of the organizations (Huczynski & Buchanan, 2001, pp. 25-35). Therefore it can be said that OB is an important area of the business which directly impact the behaviour of individual positively or negative and then have significant impact on the performance of the organization.

Organizational behaviour is the area of study which is related to impact of individual, groups and structure within the organizations for gathering knowledge and improving the effectiveness of organizations. Organizational structure is among the three determinants of OB. Organizational structure refers to the structure of the organization which comprises of various activities such as task allocation, supervision and coordination, and these activities contributes and directly linked to the organization's goals and objectives. Therefore organizations can be structured in various ways to ways, keeping in view the objectives of organization. Furthermore it is the structure of the organization that depicts the modes of the organization in which it operates. Therefore, organizational structure provides clear instructions to the employees of the organization for how to proceed. The structure of the organization binds the employees of the organization together (Huczynski & Buchanan, 2001, pp. 25-35). The structure of the organization is predictable as the behaviour represented by the organizations defines the structure it implies.

Organizational culture is referred to the behaviour and values that contributes in the psychological and social environment of the organization. There are various components of organizations culture such as expectations of organization, philosophy, values that hold it together and experiences, it working inside, their interaction with outside world, and future expectations of the organization. Organizational structure is based on shared beliefs, customs, attitudes, written and unwritten rules that developed over time and are supposed to be valid. It is also known as corporate culture. Organizational culture is depicted in various ways such as; the way in which business conducts its operation, the way it treats its employees, community and customers; the level of freedom that organization allows to its employees regarding decision making, personal expression of employees and generating new ideas for business; flow of power ...
