Introduction

This assignment will provide the effectiveness of leader in an organization and the organization which will be discussed here is National commercial Bank. The aim and purpose of the study is to determine the effectiveness of leadership and determine the success of leader and analyze his leadership qualities and characteristics.

Overview of the Organisation

NCB is one of the most prominent banks in Saudi Arabia which provides high standards in Islamic Banking. The bank focuses on a customer focused approach which put great emphasis on innovation, service and quality convenience. NCB was the first licensed bank of the kingdom. It is considered as one of the biggest bank in Saudi Arabia and a leading financial institute.

The bank started under the name ''The National Commercial Bank'' following the Royal Decree on 26th December 1953. NCB is considered as the most recognized and well established bank in the region. Being a market leader, the company is driving continuous innovation in Islamic Banking. Customer unique needs are catered by providing Sharia compliant products and services which support the latest banking trends. The aim of this assignment is to provide the effectiveness of leaders and characteristics of leadership. The leader which is chosen for the bank is Rayyan. The assignment will discuss the leader's qualities through the support of leadership theories and models.

Leadership

Leadership refers to the ability to lead, manage or control any group or organization. A leader is informally recognized or selected by a group. Various studies have been conducted to discuss the increasing problem of leadership and its impact. Research also provides the significance of leadership traits and the best strategy to be conducted by members or group. In a more complex view different situations require different types of leadership behavior and leadership qualities. Leader is a man leading and representing ideas and of a certain group of individuals (Biech, 2007, p. 56). Leadership is emphasized as an activity, or something someone does. In other words, what someone does is more important than what someone is capable of doing.

The leader can be anywhere, at school, at the institute, in the company of good friends, in some communities or even at work. In any field leader must have qualities such as charisma, the ability to win, determination, ideological commitment, perseverance, and self-sufficiency. Natural charm plays an important role in the effectiveness of leadership. Openness, communication skills, the ability to feel other people and resolve interpersonal conflicts are the important factors of successful leadership.

Leader's main goal is winning the prestige and respect of the others, so it must consider the interests of others. Importantly, it is a manifestation of attention and respect for others. Leaderships is a phenomenon which is associated with characteristics which are based on how one acts and how one is able to delegate others. Knowing includes the information one has and the attitude, beliefs and values. Leader's personality should be influential and he should be able to motivate others and should work as a team ...
