Oprah Winfrey is a real myth for many Americans. This woman, a child whose life was not easy, has the great merit of having able to overcome her problems and eventually become the great and powerful communicator who she has been for years. Oprah Gail Winfrey, more commonly known as Oprah, was born on the 29th of January 1954 in Mississippi, and is a producer and a presenter of American television, in addition of being a literary critic and publisher of magazines. She is best known for her talk show, “The Oprah Winfrey Show” which has won several awards and become the amazing program that is sensitively seen in the history of television until its final episode May 25, 2011.
Oprah is also an actress, as she was nominated for Oscars and was ranked as the best personality if the Afro-American's richest in the twentieth century. In addition to this, she is the number two African-American Philanthropist of all time. She is the only black billionaire in the world, according to the magazine Forbes, is the second capital of the entertainment industry. Despite criticism of the culture of public confession that it has initiated and the defense of tricks, she is admired for overcoming adversity and becoming a philanthropist. In France, she is best known for the interview event (broadcast live around the world) and has performed with Michael Jackson in January 1993, the latter's home in California.

As a child, Oprah's grandmother used to hit her with a stick when she did not do her duty, or when she misbehaved. At age six, Winfrey moved to an area downtown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her mother who, because of her work as a housekeeper, had less time to care for her as her grandmother. Oprah said that she was raped by her cousin, her uncle and a family friend from the age of nine years and publicly revealed these facts in her talk show, with a subject focusing on sexual abuse in 1986. Despite her family problems, Oprah has been a good student and receives a scholarship to Nicolet High School at the age of 13, a suburb of Milwaukee, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (Steven, Pp. 13).
Oprah went to live with her mother when she was six years old. There was the time that began one of the worst periods of her life. She suffered physical and psychological abuse that made her day to day life a complete chaos. Her situation was so bad that at age thirteen she decided to run away from home. So, she thought that when she will be arrested, the arrest would lead her to her father's house in Nashville. Oprah, at age 19, began to flirt with the world of communication; working as a reporter at a radio station in Nashville, and later entered the University of Tennessee, where she even won several beauty contests.
