Oprah Her Leadership Style and Her Connection to the Hospitality Industry

Introduction

Oprah Gail Winfrey is a television presenter, actress, entrepreneur, and producer and has rendered her services in different walks of life. She has been able win several Emmy Awards for her show The Oprah Winfrey Show. This show however, is the most watched show in the history of television and the popularity of the show stretched beyond the borders of United States. She is also an influential book critic plus an actress nominated for Academy Award (Katherine, 2008). Moreover the publisher of her own magazine, in 2005 Forbes magazine rendered her as the most powerful women. However, the success she has seen in her life has a lot to do with the she carries her. The number of fields she has rendered her services in, all caters to the team work. She through her life has been successful enough to take her team along with herself. So that the team and Oprah are on the same page, this results in a more constructive approach towards the work. She has been able to transform her role from a mere television host to opinion leader.

This however has been possible due to her strong communication skills, because she has been so successful in what she does. Her charisma tends to extend beyond the frame of television. Many believe that Oprah does not move alone in the world but tends to take the world with her. Her wit and humor have pulled the people from all sides of the globe towards her. Her recent visit to Australia helped the tourism industry of the Australia see new heights (Gary, 2007). However, in the context of this paper we into to shed light on her leadership style along with her connection to the hospitality industry. The subject is intended to be viewed from different perspectives in order to develop a sound understanding of the subject.

The success which Oprah Winfrey as she is commonly known, has seen in the recent times most of us can only dream of.
