Oppression against Youth

Introduction

The rising tide of oppression against young people and the masses living across the world have increased in the recent years. The youth has been experiencing the maddening anguish enduring misery in their lives, not knowing whether they can eat, live under one roof, pay for services or work. Ethnic communities such as the black have to endure the oppression of feeling that their lives hang by a thread of uncertainties. The neighborhoods have now become like a big prison where there are curfews, beatings, killings, threats, rape, extortion, drug trade and the mass arrests at the hands of the police and organized crime gangs are the daily routine. As a result, the youth raise the shields of offense to resist the oppression against them and their families. Youth from the ethnic minorities are treated such as dangerous criminals, slapping the dignity of their parents who are forced to walk the streets behind the integrity of their children.

Discussion

This appalling situation of oppression and dictatorship against the people is getting louder, not only in the developing countries, but also in the developed nations. Although, the media strive to cover the overall picture, as if to calm things down and outrage, the truth is that in cities and whole regions of the country, it is intensifying internal struggle between the ruling classes for control of markets on the one hand, and of all the ruling classes themselves against the people on the other. The State argues that it is implementing drastic measures to contain the growth of criminal acts in the city, and these follow the actions of "criminal gangs" linked to drug trafficking emerged after the cynical and deceitful demobilization (Pryce 1986, Pp. 253-301). However, it is commonly known in the neighborhoods paramilitary control structures continued to operate after the so-called "demobilization" and that in fact, many who surrendered were unemployed youth who were passed by paramilitaries to receive state subsidies. The oppressed youth, who have been facing challenges in the field of socioeconomic backgrounds, education, unemployment, media and society, policing and housing cannot tolerate any longer the oppressors. The youth offending as the mode of resisting to oppression can be justified on the account that the oppressed seem to have a one way out of it.

Social Economic Background

Economic oppression against the youth is seen as the unequal distribution of goods and services. This is when two individuals performing the same work, but the monetary gain are not the same for both. This is given for various reasons. These differences are partly the occupation and personal qualities of the people involved (Palmer & Pitts 2006, Pp. 5-22). The most basic factor that determines the income variations between occupational groups is the demand and supply. Occupations that require special attitudes and extensive training have high salaries because the supply of workers is small relative to demand. Occupations are classified as common work and that all people can exercise with little training or low ability tend ...
