Some jobs are considered as bad jobs, the reasons behind are discussed in the following paragraphs. Job satisfaction is related to balanced ratio of workloads and income, jobs with high workloads but low income (i.e. unbalanced ratio of workloads and income) usually considered bad since people consider that it is not worth to work overtime with low income or even with unpaid overtime.(Ritter,2002)
Less opportunity to be promoted
People put their great effort on their work, and career is nothing but aim to climb into a higher position and get a better offer. Works with less opportunity to be promoted opposed to this trend and is considered as a bad job. The only way they will get promoted is when someone leaves and a vacancy are available.
Monotonic and repeatable works
Job satisfaction relates to the jobs nature such as their variety of tasks and skills required. Repeatable and monotonic works such as copying and data input usually considered as bad or boring jobs. People usually want to learn and work on a wider range of works in developing their career, at least, the atmosphere in the society pushes them to follow this trend. Although the jobs are bad, some people still want these bad jobs. The reasons behind discussed in the following paragraphs.
Lacking confidence
People are lack of confidence to apply for other good jobs, they think that they will not be successful and be employed. Therefore, do not want to waste time on finding any new good jobs, which must not be successful, at least, they think so. Therefore, they remain in doing their bad jobs.(Ritter,2002)
Pessimistic attitude
After the economic crisis happened, optimistic attitude on good fortune is deteriorating, and many people believe that there are none good jobs which provide them with satisfactory offers. As a result, they still stay with their bad jobs with their pessimistic attitude.
Inertia and fear of new jobs
Sometimes, when people adopt their usual conditions, people usually do not will to change or move to a new job. They are opposed to explore an unknown world.
