Chain of Command

The way in which the authority and the command in the organization is being distributed is termed as the chain of command. The way power is wielded into the organization and the way top management is to the lower level management is delegated the responsibility is the basic idea of the chain of command. In such cases, the instructions are being managed from top to down, and the concept of the accountability is such that it flows from the top management towards the lower management. The chain of command is the important component of the way things are working in the organization and it is one thing that is needed to be considered when one talks about the delegation of the responsibility. The way tasks and the responsibilities are delegated is a big factor when one has to determine the success of failure of the organization.

In the business world, it is a common perception that more clarity there is in the chain of the command, there is a fair chance that more effective would be the decision making process that is working in the organization. The efficiency is also on the higher side when one talks about these organizations'. If one looks at it, the military organization are the most prominent examples when one talks about the chain of command and how the decision making processes are needed to be looked.

When one talks in the context of the militarily processes and the organization, it can be seen that in such organizations, the authority and the responsibility is supposed to flow from the military unit. The military unit is further divided into two more military units. There are service members that have a hard time in the execution of their order. They are the one who are directly appealing for relied from the officer above. The concept of the chain of command is such that people who are ranked higher are not supposed to directly give commands to their lower subordinates. The officer who is at the highest rank is not supposed to directly give information to their subordinates that are much below the mark. The concept of the chain of command implies that how some of the instructions are being passed on to the lower subordinates and how they are supposed to carry out their tasks. If one looks into it, it can be seen that most of the times, the line officers are the one who are taking care of the chain of command. There are officers that belong to specialist field. What they need to do is that they must look at the officers in the medical or dental filed that must take care of these things and also administer the chain of command.
