Introduction

In broadest sense, Open Source community includes all those who use Open Source software, globally. Many users of Open Source software are passive consumers, which means, they mostly never ask questions on mailing lists or participate in online discussions or develop and contribute software source code. For the purposes of this discussion, we will use the following definition: the Open Source community consists of those who participate in developing and improving Open Source software (Goldhaber, 1997, 66).
