Coordination in the Olympic movement is the key element to the successful delivery of the entire event and the whole sole responsibility of conducting the event with the concordance depends upon the operations management team. The synchronization of each activity holds an immense importance and requires keen sophistication in planning, organizing, controlling and monitoring each process. The minute mistake or misconduct can lead the entire event into the pit.

The Olympics is the global event as a great number of people take part in the arrangement and management of this memorable ceremony. The planning for this grand event starts around years before the initiation of the event. The people involved in the operations management are the real drivers of this event successfully. The operations management team divides the workforce in carrying out the distinctive tasks and then develops the synchronization and coordination among them. The operations management team is accountable for the movement of the different activities during the entire opening ceremony of Olympics.

The Olympic 2012 event took place in London, United Kingdom from July 27th, 2012 to August 12th, 2012. The overall event was managed and organized by Dave Courell, the Olympics Operations Manager at London Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG). He divided his time at managing the 80,000 spectator flagship sports venue, opening and closing ceremonies. Each transition of the event requires construction and assembling the activities in the tightest time. Mr. Courell's team was responsible for the readiness and synchronization of minute by minute plan.

Opening Ceremony of the Olympics 2012

The opening ceremony of the grand global event required a great deal of innovation and creativity which was organized and directed by world class directors Danny Boyle, Bradley Hemmings and Jenny Sealey. The opening ceremony was held on July 27th 2012 and also known as Isles of Wonder. The opening ceremony represented the key themes and contributions of the London based on its innovation, creativity, revolution and exuberance of British people. Danny Boyle and his team showcased the culture of the United Kingdom. The ceremony started with the sound of the largest harmonically tuned bell in Europe. The ceremony represented the real farm yard animals in the 'Green and Pleasant' opening scene as well as the volunteer performers from NHS. The opening ceremony included the some key programs which are as following:

Receiving the Head of State: the head of the state was received by the President of International Olympic Committee.

Parade of Athletes: procession was taken place in the opening ceremony nation by nation. Teams entered for the parade in alphabetical order.

Speeches: speeches were made by the chairman of LOCOG, Seb Coe and then followed by Jacques Rogge. The declaration of the game opening was made at the end of the speeches.
