Introduction

In the year 2005, the international Olympic Committee voted in to hold Olympics 2012 in London. The support of Prime Minister Tony Blair was a boost for London and a major chance to beat other cities like New York, Moscow and Paris with the support of Nelson Mandela. The reason behind doing Olympic 2012 in London was to provide legacy to Britain. They got the opportunity to transform lives of people by regenerating some of the poor areas of London. They wanted to inspire their new generation so that they can support the sporting activity and achievement of London Olympics. A 500 acre Olympic park was developed in Stratford, east London. The park includes 80,000 seats in the Olympic Stadium. In the stadium the opening and closing ceremony were also held. The park also includes Aquatic Center which had 50m two swimming and diving pools (Pauley, & Pauley 2009).

Some of the existing facilities were also used which includes Cricket Ground of Lord, Lake at Eton Dorney and Royal Artillery Barracks at Woolwich and Dome of Greenwich. A promise was done by Channel Tunnel Rail Link to provide fastest shuttle service from central London to Olympic park in just seven minutes. They also link the Eurostar to continental Europe. By combining they provided fastest underground services. In every 15 seconds the Olympic teams tends to have a train arriving at Olympic Park. An Olympic Board was formed who has the responsibility to view the entire delivery 2012 project. The team was comprised of Culture Secretary, Mayor of London, London 2012 Organising Committee chair and British Olympic Association Chairman. To build the infrastructure for the games and the development of new buildings and venues were the responsibility of Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA). The chairman of this committee was John Armitt. LOCOG is a private company who is responsible for staging and hosting of Olympics 2012. The Olympic 2012 had the budget of 2 billion ponds and all the funds were raised by the private sector. The Olympic was held from 27 July till 12 August (Pauley, & Pauley 2009).
