Introduction

The growing proportion of the older people worldwide is actually faster than any other age group as this is producing a rapid aging increased and population life expectancy. It is no doubt that it has led to increase the life expectancy as the result of socio-political, social-economic and social growth that implies a rethinking of the proposals and concepts from the society. According to Parker & Swartz (2008), there has been a detail debate over whether old age people can become agent for change. This is important to not just increasing their active role in the society but also for setting example for other generations also (Dacey & Zaichkowsky, 2008).

In fact, it is important to rely on developing a healthy lifestyle, mental and physical training through the recognition of skills and competences, encouraging self esteem, promoting equal opportunities and participation of the old people in the society through focusing on their training, experience, and values and also on the role of community and family (Jancey & Shilton, 2008, p.319-325). Psychology has its own significance in the arena of social work, primarily because the theories and the patterns are extensively assistive in rendering numerous vital services, via identifying the core and hidden factors of misery of a person and the key imbedded requirements. It enables to deduce the relevant and expected behaviours of the respective individuals, as well as the individuals who are designated to deliver their services (Ziden & Krueta, 2008, ...
