Introduction

This paper intends to discuss the movie 'Office Space' which was released in the year 1999. The movie was directed by Mike Judge. This paper will basically summarize the movie; however, this is not a typical move analysis paper. The actual reason behind discussing the move is to learn about organizations as represented by the organization in the movie. The paper also intends to explore various important areas of Organizational Behavior. In particular; the paper will explore the different aspects of motivation, group dynamics, organizational structure and culture and other important aspects of organizational behavior and management of organizations. Personalities of different organizations revolve around the core values and beliefs, language used in the movie, significance of having strong relationships with employees and important rituals will also be focused in this paper. The purpose of this paper is to make the readers aware about the significance of organizational behavior and making it evident through the example of movie Office Space.

Summary of the Movie 'Office Space'

Office space is essentially a comedy movie which was released in the year 1999. The movie is not a typical movie because it revolves around the topic of revealing the organizational behavior of a software company. Movies usually do not talk about such issues which Mike Judge chosen the topic because he wanted to portray that how organizational behavior can make the employees frustrated and fed up of their jobs.

The movie 'Office Space' remains focused over the individuals who remain essentially fed up of their jobs. The basic characters are portrayed by Ron Livingston, Jennifer Aniston, Ajay Naidu, Gary Cole and other important lead actors. The movie basically reveals a sympathetic side of ordinary IT workers and garnered a cult following within that field. The movie has basically addressed the problems all the white collar employees essentially face in general.

The movie has been shot in Las Colinas. The basic theme of the movie revolves around the daily routine issues all the employees tend to face within their work situations. Peter Gibbons is the basic character which is revealing all his issues he has with the management of the office. The movie represents the life at work in an incredibly efficient manner. All the viewers of the movie can essentially relate to the official problems depicted in the movie.

All the characters ranging from the receptionist to the senior management has been created in the most efficient manner. The movie has been made in such a real manner that it often feels like that it is basically a documentary and not a fiction movie. All the different instances ranging from the paper jams within the printer to the slow computers all seems to be real and every viewer can relate to it. The movie is undoubtedly hilarious from starting to the end.
