The sea level on a coastal strip of the Atlantic coast of the United States including cities like New York and Boston increases up to four times faster than the global average, according to a study published Sunday in the journal Nature Climate Change. This phenomenon due to climate change increases the risk of flooding in one of the most densely populated coastal areas and threatens biodiversity of wetlands, according to the study by the U.S. Geological Survey USGS center (usgs.gov).
