Introduction

Oceanography is an interdisciplinary branch that studies the rivers, lakes and seas Marine science that studies the processes biological, physical, geological and chemical occurring in the seas and the oceans. The oceanography can be divided into following main branches:

Physical Oceanography

Physical oceanography includes study of the physical processes that occur at sea, such as the mixture (molecular and turbulent diffusion properties of seawater), the currents, the tides and waves.

Chemical Oceanography

This deals with the chemical reactions occurring in marine environment and, fate and origins of the chemical constituents of ocean water (Sverdrup et. al, 2006).
