SWOT Analysis

Strengths

The previous experience of Mr. M in a hospital setting where nurses were involved in leadership roles

The hospital posses an ability to incorporate nurse managers which will improve the rating of the hospital and the health care delivery provided by the hospital

The purchase of hospital by a university that would provide financial assistance through funds. It will lessen the burden of cost of incorporating change in the hospital

More than half of the nurses estimated to be approx 3/ 4 holds associate degrees in nursing which is an added advantage for them to perform leadership roles

Potential for accepting the change by those who are in charge of the hospital such as the nurses and some of the other staff members

Weaknesses

The stagnant and non productive staff due to the delayed procedures and a lack of management in the processes of the hospital organization

Dissatisfied patients of the hospital create a negative image of the hospital in the industry and affect the rating of the hospital

12 hour shift of nurses due to which patients have to wait longer than needed and the PM nurses have to do most of the paperwork for admitting the patients into clinical units

Lengthy process of decision making since the nurses have to call the supervisors before taking decisions regarding the unit activities and procedures

Poor funding of the hospital due to lack of insured patients who use the ER hospital for non urgent care and even some of the patients are not being able to pay
