Orlygsdottir, B. & Svavarsdottir, E. K. (2008), Effect of abuse by a close family member on health, Journal of Nursing Scholarship, 40(4), 311-318

Q10.____Sample and Sampling Technique (2) What was the sample and what sampling technique was used to choose the sample from the population?

How was an appropriate sample size determined?

The sample was taken from a total of 208 women (101 visiting the ED and 107 visiting the HRPCC). These women had gone through physical or sexual abuse in one year. All of the selected women were pregnant and in the first trimester. The design technique of cross sectional study was utilized to select the sample from the population.
