Nursing Intervention

Nursing interventions is defined as any treatment, based on knowledge and clinical judgment, which performs professional nursing to support the expected outcome of the patient. Nursing Interventions include both direct and indirect care, treatments implemented by nursing professionals, physicians and other caregivers (Smith et al, 2005). An indirect nursing intervention is a treatment done away from the patient but for the benefit of the patient or patient group. Nursing Interventions include indirect care activities directed at the environment around the patient and interdisciplinary collaboration (Kindy & Parkhurst, 2005). These actions support the effectiveness of direct nursing interventions. Nursing a direct intervention treatment is accomplished through interaction with the patient (Lyons, 2009). Nursing Intervention includes direct nursing actions physiological and psychosocial actions put both hands as they are rather support and advisory in nature (Delaney & Johnson, 2006).

Treatment initiated by the nurse is a nurse-initiated intervention in response to a nursing diagnosis, autonomous action based on science that is executed on behalf of the patient in a predictable way related to nursing diagnosis and the results projected. Such actions would include higher nurse-initiated treatments (Buccheri & Dowling, 2007). Treatment initiated by the physician is an intervention initiated by him in response to a medical diagnosis but carried out by a professional nursing in response to a "doctor's orders." Practitioners may also carry out treatment undertaken by other care providers such as pharmacists, respiratory therapists and physician assistants (Svanum & Claveaux, 2007). Activities or actions carried out by the nurse to perform an intervention and help patient's move towards the desired result. Nursing activities are translated into concrete action. To implement an intervention requires a series of activities.

Nursing as a Social Worker

The social worker is a generic term for a range of professions working in the field of social action in general. The person who involved in social work finds himself on the first place to manage, understand and help solve the needs of its public. Indeed, it must meet a set of tasks defined by the institution that employs him, often in order to facilitate the integration of individuals. The social worker works with individuals, families, groups and communities. It helps to clarify the needs of people, identify the source of their problems, to find and implement solutions that suit them, to assert their rights, to make social change and influence social policies. There are many professions which identified as full time professional careers and come under the category of social work as well and nursing regarded as the predominant one. Nursing is a noble profession which is based on principles of self-determination, reduction of social inequalities, improving the quality of life and human rights.
