Introduction

Nurses as in charge have an important role in the health care organizations. One of the daily tasks of nurses is to make the assignments and daily reports of patients. This activity is so important, but critical analyses show the lacking and inaccuracy in this respect. There is no doubt that nurses are playing an important role in hospitals with respect to the management of patient's care with higher quality and care. Establishing a practical guide for making assignment regarding patients can solve the issue in the near future. Studies conducted by Cathro (January, 2013) in the article entitled “A Practical Guide to Making Patient Assignments in Acute Care” is a good effort that explores the wide areas of studies regarding this issue and the paper has been taken as the material for understanding, analyzing and evaluating the points suggested in the article.

Importance of Patient's Assignment Making in Nursing

Although, the job of clinical nurse is complex and the job role is comprised of multitasked roles for instance, managerial, leadership, administrative work and the most important is the care of a patient in an assigned shift. The two important duties of a clinical nurse are to monitor the care of patients, and the additional duty is to coordinate and manage the activities of other clinical nurses.
