Provided that the nurses are highly educated, qualified and trained, the common risk factors actually play an important for the nurses to empower the individuals in many ways. First of all, in order to deal with any particular disease that is commonly prevailing in any particular time period will always have some common risk factors of that disease. With the help of these risk factors, the nurses can identify the root causes and in addition the symptoms of that disease. The awareness therefore regarding any such disease is essential for controlling the prevalence of that disease (Lawton & Wimpenny, 2003). The common risk factors will actually facilitate and ease the awareness procedures. This is partially due to the fact that explaining the diseases and its root causes to the masses will be more convenient and effective thereby using the common risk factors.
The common risk factors will also make it easier for the nurses to make the victims of any prevailing diseases engage in various discussion sessions that are governed by the nurses and the medical care personnel. Therefore, this cross discussion will give the victims a chance to share their experiences regarding the disease. Such discussions assisted by the nurses will not just educate the individuals. In addition, the nurses can also use these common factors to educate the individuals to prevent from exercising the practices that could result in controlling the disease or reversing some of the symptoms (Lawton & Wimpenny, 2003). Moreover, the individuals will be more motivated to adapt all the healthy life style changes in order to prevent the disease from spreading. It is essential to note that educating even a few individuals regarding the risk factors will play an important role in further spreading the awareness through these individuals to many others.
