Dorothea Orem's Theory

Dorothea Orem was born in 1914 in Baltimore in US. She earned diploma in nursing from Providence hospital which is in the Washington, DC. She did her bachelors BSN from Catholic University of America in 1939 and in 1945 she earned a masters degree MSN from the same institute. She had served in many departments as nurse. For instance she has served as a staff nurse, nurse educator, and private duty nurse and as a nurse consultant as well. In 1976 she earned an honorary Doctor of science degree.
