Discussion
Cervical cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women. Nearly a quarter of a million women worldwide die from cervical cancer and about half a million are diagnosed with this disease each year. Cervical cancer accounts for 12% of all cancers in women and is the second most frequent gynecological malignancy in the world (www.nursingtimes.net). A large portion of this health burden is in the developing world, where women do not have access to good healthcare and Papanicolaou (Pap) screens. The prevention of cervical cancer is based on a set of rules and guidelines that are aimed at reducing mortality from this disease, thanks to early detection that one can identify cancer in early stages of its existence, in order to treat the disease (www.nursingcenter.com).

In charge of each patient, a nurse works under the directions of the doctors. Pertaining to treatments and medication, she follows doctor's orders and helps help doctors while performing certain procedures. She notifies doctors when patient's condition worsens, or if there is any emergency situation with any of the patients admitted in the hospital (www.nursingcenter.com). Just like an auditor, a nurse keeps on ensuring that patients are all well examined and it is the most important aspect of exemplary nursing (www.mskcc.org). Depending on the hospital policies, a nurse takes patients' examinations certain times throughout her shift, if there are any changes in the readings or the overall health of the patient and note the changes, if any. To the fullest, she carries out and makes a care plan for the patients (www.nursingtimes.net). Similarly the role of nurse in following case is very important as the patient comes with a severe health condition.
