Non-Verbal Breaking Experiment

Introduction

Communication is segregated into two major types, Verbal communication and non-verbal communication. Verbal communication refers to any communication which takes place due to sounds or voices. Language is the key element in verbal communication. Non-verbal communication on the other hand, refers to all manner of communication that is done without using words like sign language, body language etc. Human beings communicate through both means in a normal dialogue. Non-verbal communication is also much more clearer and easier to understand than verbal. For instance, if a foreign person comes to a country and he does not know the language. He is at a loss to communicate is desire, for instance he wishes to eat and doesn't know where to go. He can motion or sign any native passing by with his hands that he wishes to eat and that person will understand even if no words are spoken.

Similarly, in conversations, non-verbal communication is done by body language. Eye contact, nods, expressions, gestures, etc. all are a part of a regular conversation. If they are missing, confusion occurs.

Thesis Statement

“To find out the importance and impact of non-verbal communication by breaking a rule and analyzing its effects on people involved in the dialogue”
