The paper compares two non-fiction master pieces, that is, letter from Birmingham jail, as well as, Salvation by Langston Hughes. Summary

The letter from Birmingham jail

The summary of the writing masterpiece is a reaction of masterpiece from the Birmingham jail; the letter was written by Luther King to his followers, he asserts that the struggle for breaking the reign injustice has to go consistent, regardless of the loss of lives, property and other valuables. He defends the strategy of resistance to the call of injustice, and emphasizes that people living inside the United States has to come above their ethnic differences to pursue the goal of justice prevalence in the society. The letter emphasizes the call of unity that addresses the notion that drives the struggle of Luther King towards the rule of justice.

The letter is focused upon the acquisition of civil rights, which were the core subject of the struggle of Luther King. The letter emphasizes that Americans are being divided upon the basis of creed, color and race, and therefore, the rulers are capable of boarding people towards injustice. The notion is therefore, consistent with the rule of injustice and the letter is focused upon the revocation of the American spirit focusing that whosoever lives in the United States would be an American, and has a right over a good livelihood (King, 1963).

Salvation

It is a short personal narrative that is written by Langston Hughes in the period of renaissance. The story encompasses of the narration that merely comprises of 15 paragraphs. The story depicts the experience of an author with a church, he went to church for around 13 years to seek salvation inside the church. He was told that church is the safeguarding force that upholds the individual from being sinned, and therefore, he found that the only way to spare him was to make it to church every day.
