Introduction

Nike is the pretty little story of two athletes, the track coach at the University of Oregon (Bill Bowerman), the other accounting student and semi-distance runner (Phil Knight) who had the idea of importing Japanese athletic footwear not too expensive and technically efficient enough. They were joined in 1965 by Jeff Johnson becomes the first vendor-company representative who toured the athletic fields of the country to promote their shoes. But soon, Bowerman wants to make his own sneakers. It is therefore natural that in 1972, Nike was born (Greenberg & Smolinski, 1994).

The story of Nike is inextricably linked to two names - Phil Knight, a middle distance runner on the team and the University of Oregon coach Bill Bowerman. American-made sports shoes worth while only 5 dollars, but the quality left much to be desired. As a coach, Bill Bowerman knew that in a bad outfit high results cannot be achieved, but more high-quality German shoes cost six times as much. And then the coach decided to try to create your own shoes, and Phil Knight was one of those who tried to "coach" shoes and tried it on myself (Ellis & Zhan, 2011). The main purpose of this paper is to compare, analyze, contrast and develop Nike history from its incorporation up until present.
