New Imperialism

Introduction

Imperialism is a policy designed to impose state control and extending its influence into the territory of other States. This control is mostly through the military, called the policy is also expansionary policy. It aims primarily to maintain the Empire, by creating new markets for the exports of the state, and access to cheap sources of labor and raw materials and energy. It also aims to uphold the political status and strategy of the empire. It also launches the imperialist policies also aimed at the presence of colonies of the State outside its territory, regardless of the fact that this state empire or not. Marxists used the term as defined by the "Lenin" as "the Highest Stage of Capitalism." Although the Marxist theories of imperialism is done pursuant to the rich capitalist countries, but some felt that the former Soviet Union was exercising a kind of social imperialism on the countries of the Eastern bloc and other countries nearby.

Discussion and Analysis

One of the main motives of imperialism, the fact that industrialized countries produce more industrial goods than you need, or which people can buy so the colonies become a stagnant market for goods, and can provide cheap land and raw materials are rare, and therefore opportunities to invest surplus capital. The establishment of settlements and colonies outside the state facilitates the provision of services of the Navy and commercial ships. Another important reason for the spread of imperialism was the growing sense of national national levels, where people feel that greatness is measured by an area of their home territory, in addition to the spread of the idea that the peoples of Asian and African peoples are inferior to those who are governed by need and guided to the path of civilization.
