Network Designing

Introduction

The local network in a business provides a business with a leadership platform, along with the forum for all of its members. This enables the people from different businesses to develop joint problem solving strategies for their businesses, by sharing their expertise, knowledge, and experiences with each other. Along, with this the local network seeks to hold regular events for educating the people along with providing a list of networking opportunities for all the local signatories (Douglas, 2006). Further, it will guarantee through its actions that it becomes an essential voice and part of the decision making process of the local government. In short the major role of the Global compact principles is to work for advancements regarding efficient development of the business inside the locality

Recommended Network Design

Network designing is the part of the networking domain that is aimed at ensuring that the network that has been selected or designed for a particular user operates in accordance of the operator's requirement. It is an iterative process that needs to be improved with time in case of changing requirements of the operator. It is a process that considers different aspects of the operator's requirements such as the forecasted traffic that would be running on the network, the quality of service that is to be maintained on that network and the cost of deployment (Gerald, 2003). This means that it requires evaluation of the aspects such as forecasting that how the network that is going to be developed would be operated, the economic factors that are closely linked to the operation of the network and the details of the capabilities of the network from a technical perspective.

The main steps that are involved in the process of network design are topological designing of the network, synthesis of the network and the realization of the network. The first step, i.e. topological designing deals with the issues like where to place the different network devices and how they would be interconnected with each other in order to make the network operable. Once this is accomplished, the next step is to determine the devices and equipments of specific capabilities that would be used in the network. This step is aimed towards coming up with a network design that is cost effective as well as efficient. A network that is more capable than the requirements may cause huge excessive costs, while a network that is less capable than the requirements would not fulfill the requirements of the operator. The objective is to come up with an optimum design. The last step in network design is to realize the network that is reliable (Hultell et.al, 2004).

In this case, a network design needs to be proposed for a small billing business. The customer requires a network that is wireless so that is convenient to be operated, contains a quality printer, has the ability to share files and folders, has internet access and has multiple email addresses to be ...
