Nathaniel Hawthorne's short story, "Young Goodman Brown," depicts the interior confrontations of the juvenile, naïve, Puritan, Goodman Brown. Hawthorne aptly entitled his individual characteristics, to express their blameless nature. Brown and Faith are newlyweds enjoying a joyous life in a little Salem village of Puritan New England in the 1690's.
