Young Public Leaders Struggle with Maintaining Strict Ethical Standards because they have Little Experience
Introduction
Ethics is one of the fundamental parts of public relations. An honorable behavior and an integral value, ethics can be rendered as the function on which an environment is formed. Shedding light on the importance of leadership and ethics, the two aspects go hand in hand. Leaders who keep the ethical standards high are always the successful leaders, and the ones who tend to ignore the chapter, thinking it is not a major one always tends to come tumbling down. We have the examples of the Enron, that collapsed in no time; Lehman Brothers who became next to nothing, only because of the fact that ethics were not followed by them.
Discussion
Studies as mentioned in the work reflect that organizations and public relations are faltering today, mainly because of the fact that the leadership does not incorporate ethics in their work and in their public dealings (Darcy, 2010). This is particularly the reason that the trust of people in leadership is not as strong as it used to be earlier. The absence of ethics is mainly being credited to the new leaders, mostly young leaders, who are new into the setup and do not realize the importance of ethics, leading to waning trust in the whole setup.
The whole situation of lack or absence of ethics leads to skeptical relations between the leaders and the followers and the people tend to question even the existence of the concept in leadership of youngsters, making a trust crisis prevail in present day leadership, making the problem go to the net level just due to the fact that proper incorporation of ethics is absent, reflecting how important ethics are for any leadership (Darcy, ...
