Introduction

Most of the population is convinced that the majority of crimes are committed by a minority of people belonging to certain social groups: the poor, extremists, or people who are drugged. This conviction is based on the idea that there are two classes of people: criminals and non-criminals. This mindset that sees us as opposed to their contribution to label criminal as violent, outlaw, or abnormal, is to describe the figure of the criminal. Despite our culture professed to the law, crime is widespread through all strata of society. The offenses are committed by people of every social class, race or age group.

Studies show that the majority of people doing bigger criminal acts are extremely serious. Almost all of these crimes are not reported and criminals manage to avoid arrest and prosecution. We are all criminals, if by that word we mean someone who has committed illegal acts. Only a small percentage of crimes committed in the United States ends with a conviction and imprisonment.

Discussion

The term “crime” is generally used for breaking the law, which usually leads to conviction by a court with judicial power. The term may be broadly defined as a criminal offense. Criminal view definition can; however, vary from country to country. The concept is closely related to crime. The crime differs from the less serious offense. There is no international criterion and the same facts may be qualified differently depending on the country.

One can argue that the murder is considered a crime in all laws, but killing someone is punished as murder only under some strict conditions: that no one is killed in war, a physician or a professional exercising a profession (doctors, nurses, policemen, judges, ministers of interior, defense ministers), or any authority in self-defense and security.

Crime and Criminal in the Society's Perspective

The real criminal, and that it shall mean a person who deliberately sacrifice the other to obtain a personal advantage, is present in every section of society. He may not have opportunity to break the law and its reality can be hidden behind rich clothes, revealing in after only a careful observer, in a variety of actions which are not punishable by any law, indeed, sometimes supported by it, and through which emerges the true brutal nature of person.
