Introduction

Mythology is the song, the song of the imagination inspired by the energies of the body. Once a Zen master stood in front of his students to deliver a sermon and, just when he was about to open his mouth, a bird sang. Then he said: "The sermon was delivered." This discussion comprises of different concepts of mythology in a broader perspective with respect to the different people of different times. It will also discuss about the brief events such as “Deucalion and his wife Pyrrha”, the story of “Pandora Box” and the response of Prometheus in this regard.

The transcript of a long interview granted to Joseph Campbell Bill Moyers a few years before his death. Over the course of nearly two years between 1985 and 1986, the journalist and the great scholar entertained themselves on camera talking about the myth and its function in society. From that material is formidable was a television show for the American network PBS: six episodes of one hour each, which would generate a real wave of collective enthusiasm. But those six hours were the result of draconian cuts inflicted a material much, much more conspicuous.

This material is designed to collect later in a book. What is the space that contemporary Western civilization reserves the story of its founding myths?

How to trace the echo of the myth deepest and hidden in the multitude of signs that bombards us every day?

What distinguishes the transcendent from what we experience every day, here and now?

Campbell soup is not heated and does not claim to have answers to questions that you need to keep asking rather, to establish a harmonious relationship with the cosmos around us.
