My Two Career Choices Forensics and F.B.I Profiler

Introduction

It is a fact that majority of people make numerous career decisions in their lives. Whether they are picking a university major, planning retirement, or switching jobs, the choices are often very nerve-racking (Brinkley, 2007). However, acquaintance with different types of preferences, and utilizing intuition, sensing, feeling and thinking can lead to healthier decisions. Thus, in this paper, I will discuss two of my career choices that are Forensic Scientist and F.B.I Profiler.

Forensic Scientist

Forensic scientists are at times also referred as criminalists, and this area of study is often called criminalistics. Whilst forensic scientists may not be just exactly as they come out on Television, however, this career do have very important job responsibilities in our legal system.

Required Education

The education level required for a career in forensic science is very much dependent on the field of forensics a person is looking to enter. For a forensic scientist position, employers will approximately always demand a Bachelors degree in a subject related to science, and for some positions the employers may be demand a Masters or PhD degree in Sciences. Regardless of the vast range of the courses available for forensic sciences, a Bachelors or Masters in chemistry or any other similar subject is usually preferred, although some forensic science degrees that are in particular chemistry based are appropriate. Thus, for a person like me who is looking forward to make a career as a Forensic Scientist should go for a forensic science degree although degrees are not essentially required for such roles.

Career as a Forensic Scientist

There are a number of forensic science career options to choose from. Thus, I can fit in to any of the following areas:

I can become a forensic scientist and can work in a forensics lab assessing trace proofs and poisons, at times offering the results at trial.

If I find myself more interested in technology and computers then I can fit into the world of computer forensics, searching rubbed out hard drives for proofs that will help me in convicting the criminals.
