Walking around the streets an old man is being witnessed. Unaware of the eyes around him, he stands in the middle of the road, dazes around, start chewing his lower lip before he recognizes that cars are waiting for him to go. After a minute or two it registers and then he starts walking towards the pathway.
Brief Overview
I, a college student also observed this and ponder what was wrong with him. This incident or scenario gave me the idea of why adults or children at times react weirdly. This paper will talk about my personality theory termed as “Smitten Personality theory” that investigates at all stages learning and behavior patterns of individuals.
This theory was developed my investigating behavioral patterns of children starting from age 3 to adults who have received faced with some dissonance that deals with behavioral or learning ability of the person/child involved. Not only this incident but I have been observing my little brother who is now 5 years old but is still having trouble in recognizing things or colors.
At times he recognizes but it's usually after a very long time. The above mentioned scenario only triggered my mind further to investigate this and hence that how my theory evolved. The target market with respect to this theory include children from age 3 to adults in their old age (50+). The reason why I have chosen this age bracket is because it is usually at an early stage one encounters this or adults at their later stage.
Smitten Personality Theory
This theory describes the stages of development from infancy onwards, and the fact that psychological structures develop from inborn reflexes. These are organized for children in behavior patterns, and are internalized during the second year of life. This includes the thought patterns of the child which further is also linked with the thought process and evaluation skill of an adult that is 50+. (Archer, 2006)
This theory state that development in terms of behavioral and learning starts from the child birth but major development occurs from 3 years onwards. Within this theory Preoperational thinking starts when the child turn three. The child is capable of building and managing symbols, but this fails in the attempt to logically operate with them, they start the role playing, drawing, mental imagery and the development of spoken language.
This development continues till he turns seven and from seven onwards the child develops logical understanding and grows social understanding and skills. But if such issue of the child is not catered he will suffer greatly and would require specific treatment or tools will be used. An example of the tool to cater to children is play therapy.
This theory also talks about the fact there is no age restriction adults in their old age also are facing such issues especially those that have certain illness, are in health care hospitals, moods swings etc. It is further explained that normally adults in their later stage ...
