Introduction

I worked for Meikei International Trading Company which has its headquarters in Spain and has its branch set up in China. It is primarily involved in trading business or the business of import and export between Spain and China. The company is well established in this industry working for diverse array of clients and customers having established its reputation and goodwill in the domain through significant efforts. The product line mainly revolves around shoes which include loafers, leather shoes and boots, sandals among others. The goods are exported from China and imported by Spain.

When the company first started in Spain, it faced significant struggle in establishing itself and finings clients and customers who would value the imports from China. However, with diligent efforts been placed in the business by the top management, the situation started to improve with Meikei attaining clients who would value its products. The company started to move large scale organizing and participating in upscale exhibitions in varying destinations so as to attract prospective customers and clients from across the world through promoting its products. This manifests in the recent exhibition which was organized in Las Vegas, of which I was made a part as Meikei International Trading Company also participated in it, whilst working as an intern for the company. The company particularly established huge target market for its boots which is now the popular product of Meikei International Trading Company. Being made through the use of artificial leathers; the material for which is known widely as PU, and not real leather, it is priced lower than what the real leather boots would cost however looks the same as a result of which it has garnered huge market. The market of customers which was once consolidated in Spain and Chin is now spread across the globe.

I had worked for Meikei International Trading Company last year as well at which time I was employed with its China branch. Working in China and understanding their business environment proved to be a fruitful experience and the experiences offered further increased their utility when this time around, as part of my internship, I was sent to Las Vegas, America, to attend the exhibition and attract prospective customers. Learning and understanding about Chinese business environment and the gaining of insight relevant to the operations of Meikei International Trading Company's operations in China, my position in the company was strengthened as I could effectively brief customers pertaining to how the products are sourced and exported to Spain and clients and buyers around the world. Such information is required by customers and clients usually those who are doing bulk buying for their own business and thus it is imperative to satisfy them so as to secure a deal or contract for the company.
