Introduction

In France, there are four main bodies of police: customs, gendarmerie, police finally province and the prefecture of police that meets wrongly under the name Unified National Police. The policies of the past 15 years have encouraged the approximation (the administrative term) between two of them, the provincial police and gendarmerie, leaving PP strengthen its specificities and customs mission on its borders. But the original goal, the unification between 4 overall body remains. Since 2009, the police and the gendarmerie both depend for the most part, the Ministry of Interior; in appearance at least.
