Introduction

The origin of professional teams to address the child abuse issues date back at least to 1960s. The significance of collaboration between law enforcement, therapist and social workers was understandable (Cross et.al, 2007). The differing perspective of procedures, goals, responsibilities encouraged the development of official relationships. Aim of this paper is to discuss the effectiveness of the multidisciplinary team approach compared to the non multidisciplinary team strategy on the provision of medical examinations on children with allegations of child abuse.

Discussion

Aim of Multidisciplinary approach is to investigating the abuse of a child that bring together different professional who are engaged in the case of child abuse and also having an ability to work within respective way rather than working as a professional isolation (Connell, 2009). Basic aim of Multidisciplinary team approach is consisting on the Child Protection investigators, professionals of medical, professionals of mental health, prosecutors, and victims advocates. The multidisciplinary team approach also consist allows these professionals to expand their skills on how to take care of children and provide them different strategies that are involved: (1) creation of opportunities for collection of evidence that helps in justice promotion (2) enhance the capabilities to meet the specific obligations for each roles that investigating suspected abuse of child (3) reducing the child victims trauma.

Furthermore, in order to reduce trauma to children, the Multidisciplinary team approach significantly promotes the better assessment of both psychological and physical needs of the children. This approach is also helpful to provide better facilitation through their specialized services.

Multidisciplinary team approach is also obtaining more credible evidence as it compare with those individuals who are working in isolation. This approach iss also heavily focus on those children's who are innocent.

Literature Review

Cross et.al (2007) uses the multiple investigations in order to improve the child forensic, they provide child friendly locations for an interview through which in-depth analysis of this issues can determine easily. They use quasi experiment in their study that aims to evaluate the comparison communities. They use a sample size of 1000 children who are affected from being child abuse in four different States of U.S. and found that there is some comparison among communities that used certain methods of coordination's. Results show that Child Advocacy Center appears to increase the coordination on interview of child forensic. They indicate that Child Advocacy Center show no advantage on reduction of a number of forensic interview.
