Motivation

Management can increase intrinsic motivation by arranging seminars with motivational speakers. This is how employees can be motivated, and productivity can be increased. Intrinsic motivation plays a prominent role in the performance of an individual; therefore, it should be considered. Even if there is little extrinsic motivation, but if the employee got intrinsically motivated he or she will be an outstanding performer. According to the Maslow's hierarchy, a human wants to fulfill his physiological needs first, then he wants his safety needs to be fulfilled. Then he wants his social needs to be fulfilled i.e. his belonging needs (Fargus, 2000). Next are the self esteem needs which he wants to be fulfilled and then lastly is the stage of self actualization. According to Maslow, this is how an individual fulfills his needs and looks for achieving self actualization.

When the conscious and unconscious needs of human are fulfilled, it directly or indirectly motivates them to do what got expected out of them. Maslow has discussed these needs by dividing them into different groups. Motivation got derived from a Latin word which means to move. Motion or moving is the meaning of the Latin word, and out these words motivation came into existence. It can be said that motivation is something which has encouraged people to move forward, and to give their best in every field of life. Motivation creates the willingness in the people to do something which they believe is difficult.
