Abstract

The motivation of workforce is an important aspect along with other important aspects of the business. The motivation level in the employees has direct and significant impact upon overall performance of the organization. This paper aim at discussing the importance of motivation at the workplace while highlighting some important articles. In the later section it is also discussed that how the motivation can developed in the employees of the organization by using various strategies.

Introduction

In today's fast pace of competition, the challenges to the organizations have increased to the greater extent. In order to cope up such challenges, the organizations are required to perform their level best to ultimately achieve the competitive advantage and to achieve the required goals and objectives. The overall performance of the organization depends up the individual performances of its employees. In order to be successful among the competitors in the industry, the organizations are first required to develop an accurate level of motivation among the employees so as to attain the desired performance levels from the employees. The motivation is a process of developing the goal - directed behaviour among the employees by satisfying the needs of the individual employees.

There are various approaches and strategies that are developed and implemented by the human resources departments of the organizations in order to develop motivation among their employees. There are also a number of models that are used by the managers and leaders to develop motivation. The basic factors that motivate the employees to perform effectively and efficiently involve the good salaries, increments, bonuses, appreciations, performance acknowledgements and performance rewards, growth, development and career advancement opportunities.
