1. Similarities between Moksha and Salvation

Hindus believe in moksha in which a person's soul reincarnates into different beings after death till they achieve Brahman in which the soul achieves salvation. This process is achieved through good works. Hindus believe that the soul of a human is reincarnated after death if the person does not lead a life in which he achieved good works. However, when he does so throughout a single life, the reincarnation ends and after his death he will achieve salvation. At this time the souls is released from the earth and lives an eternal life in salvation (Defouw & Svoboda, 2003).

Similarly, Christians believe in salvation which is achieved by following the instructions of God and accomplishing good deeds and staying away from evil. Humans are influenced by evil and thus they break their commitment with God. Sin brings suffering to mankind and every individual is born with sin as a result of Adams disobedience to God. However, if a person lives a life dedicated to God and stays away from sin, he would come closer to God and thus achieve salvation (Stanley, 2007).

Salvation has been given to Christians by Jesus when he came down on earth and sacrificed his live for the forgiveness of the sins of mankind. He was killed by mankind due to their ignorance however; he came back to life after his crucifixion in order to open the gates of heaven. This is the belief of Christians.

At the end, the period of salvation is the same in both religions where a soul will live freely without any troubles and worries since there will be no materialistic world to care about.
