The business operations and the administration have direct and significant impact upon overall performances of the business. Among other business industries, the health care industry is also growing at a rapid rate. The challenges are increasing to the health care organizations because the competition among the competitors is increasing and the demands of the people in the societies are increasing. In order to successfully cope up with all the challenges, the health care organizations are required to develop such operations and administration systems that are not only aimed at generating the highest levels of revenues, but also are aimed at providing the competitive quality care to the patients.

The operations management is the essential functional area of the business organization. The operations and the administration managers build up and administer the resources that are necessary to deliver the health care goods and services to the patients. Within health care organizations, there are various aspects of operations and administrations. These, most significantly, involve the areas of finance, services, housekeeping, facilities, inventory management, quality assurance, and maintenance, billing and coding compliance as well as the housekeeping health information systems. All these areas of business administration have significantly direct and indirect impact upon the care services that are provided to the patients. Most of the operations and administrative activities are not directly related to the patient but in the back end they impact the overall care performances of the health care organizations. This department is interlinked with other organizational departments such as the finance department, the inventory department, the nursing department, the house keeping department and the human resource department.
