Introduction

Selecting an appropriate hardware and software is an essential duty for companies. The reason for this is the cost. Management usually compares different brand specification and cost in order to take cost effective decision for company. The focus of this paper would be on preparing a comparison report with three hardware vendors to determine which option is more economical. For this, three reputable PC suppliers has been selected i.e. HP, Dell and Lenovo.

Discussion

The details that was given were to select a Desktop and Printer with Specifications of MINIMUM Desktop Specifications, Processor speed 3 GHz, Hard drive 500 GB, RAM 4 GB, DVD-ROM drive DVD-RW and Monitor (diagonal measurement) 18 inches.

For Lenovo we have selected Lenovo LS1922 Wide 18.5inch WLED Flat Panel Monitor, for dell 18.5" LCD Monitor - Black and HP S1932 18.5in. As far as desktop is concern, each brand meet the above mention specifications.

Monitor cost for Lenovo is lowest while, HP monitor is expensive. Cost of HP desktop is high as compared to Lenovo and Dell due to the quality that is provided in HP. Beside this, the processor of HP is much faster than other two brands. Speaker price of Dell and HP is similar high Lenovo cost is high (Dell and HP website). The reason for this high cost is due to the structure of the speaker which is unique and different from other two brands. Mouse prices are somewhat same for t here brands where as printer cost of Hp is lower than other two brands. MS OS and Ms Office suit is inbuilt in three brands which have no cost (Dell, Lenovo and HP website). The total cost for one system for HP is $1,046.63, while Dell total cost is $876.76 and Lenovo cost is $827.73.

Since company has to purchase 10 systems, total cost would be as followed
