Introduction

The public health is the responsibility of the government so as to protect the citizens of the country from various diseases and injuries. The public health has direct and significant impact upon the economies of the states. There are various roles that are played by the federal and state government of the United States in promoting the public health. However, there are also certain challenges that are faced by the state government in enhancing and promoting the public health. The following section aims at discussing in detail the primary roles that are played as well as the challenges that are faced by the federal and state government in dealing with the public health.

Primary roles of the U.S. federal and state government in public health

The federal and the state government of the United States perform various roles so as to ensure the promotion of the public health. These governments carry out the health care researches and based on the health care activities, they develop and implement health care laws and regulations. The most basic role of the US federal and state government is to identify the potential health issues in the societies and to develop such action plans that can solve and eliminate the health problems of the societies (Schneider, M. J., 2010). Following are some of the essential roles that are being played by the US federal and state government.

Investigation of the health hazards in the societies.

Develop health promoting associations with that of the various private health care agencies and organizations.

Develop community partnerships so resolve the existing health issues.

Develop and implement health educational programs so as to educate the people in the societies relating to the good health practices.
