Introduction

Technology evolves as the need to communicate grows ever larger. With faster internet providers come the need to communicate better using as many mediums as possible, be it audio, both or both. Technology has a lot of effects on our daily lives. In today's world, we are surrounded by technology and cannot find a way out. This is the reason technology is impacting our lives to a very great extent. These effects are positive as well as negative; therefore, it is up to us whether we get affected in a positive way or in a negative way. This paper discusses the mobile computing and its advancement, the usages of mobile computing in the business environments, its benefits and risks involved in the business.

Mobile Computing

Today, most of the applications of the smart phones are aimed at fulfilling the needs of the individual user and only single phone resources are utilized. There is a huge opportunity for harnessing the collective computational, storage and sensing capabilities for the multiple networked phones for creation of the distributed infrastructure that could help in supporting the new applications introduced by the telecommunication industry as a marketing strategy for retention and attraction of the customers (Satyanarayanan, 2009, pp. 56). These data and resources of computation are underutilized largely in today's world of mobile applications. With the help of these resources, computational abilities and combined data could be used by these applications conveniently for generation of desired results for customers or clients both within the network and outside the network.

Mobile computing is a form of human-computer interaction by which a computer is expected to be transported during normal usage. Mobile computing has three aspects: mobile communication, mobile hardware, and mobile software. The first aspect addresses communication issues in ad-hoc and infrastructure networks as well as communication properties, protocols, data formats and concrete technologies. The second aspect is on the hardware, e.g., mobile devices or device components. The third aspect deals with the characteristics and requirements of mobile applications (Baker, 2001, pp. 67).

Mobile Cloud Computing

In comparison to mobile grid computing, the focus of mobile-cloud computing is over abstracting away from the resource sharing implementation for providing a useful application tool (businesslink.gov.uk). With the usage of mobile hardware for cloud computing offering advantages over the conventional hardware, such as sensor data without transfer of a large network and computational access to multimedia, comparatively more efficient data storage access on other devices and networks, and maintenance and distributed ownership of hardware (Burns 2007). Such kind of a concept is giving rise to a lot of concerns, which include conservation of mobile resource, privacy, incentivisation of users and access control. Simultaneously, this concept might be creating opportunities for new interesting application and for more efficient versions of resource for the applications available and marketing strategies existing for the telecom operators today (EETimes.com).
