Structure of Education System in Canada

In each province or territory, the ministry or department Education is responsible for elementary and secondary education (Doss, 2008). Following is the specific information of education in Canada on the basis of the different states in Canada:

Alberta

The assessment at the secondary level is represented by percentages. The percentages correspond to the following letters: A, 80-100% (excellent), B, 65-79% (good); C, 50-64% (pass), F, 0-49% (Failure). Total education from basic education to high school: 12 years (Doss, 2008).

British Columbia

The educational program is divided into three levels: primary (kindergarten through grade 3), school intermediate (grades 4 through 10), and years of graduation (grades 11 and 12). The Dogwood Diploma is the Certificate of discharge for the province of British Columbia. Total education from basic education to high school: 12 years (Doss, 2008).

Manitoba
