Introduction

Respect is referred to a positive feeling of deference or esteem for an individual or another entity. This also involves the conduct and actions of the representative deserving the esteem. It is very important to understand that respect could be a positive feeling of regard for the actual qualities that a respected person deserves. Respect could also be expressed through a conduct in accordance with a specific ethical conduct of respect. It is very obvious that military is a very organized and systematic organization and it also has its own set of values hat are very strict. Respect is an important part of the military courtesy and is regarded very high from the perspective of military. The core focus of this paper is to identify and discuss the importance of respect in the military regards.

Discussion

Respect is among the greatest pillars of the training and education of military. It is a fact that respect could occur in different forms, and same is the case with respect within the military. He different forms of respect include understanding, honesty, self awareness, knowledge, character, trust, and positive attitude. On the other hand, a noticeable point is that respect has to be earned. It is very important for people to treat others in a way in which they want others to treat them. It is very significant that teamwork is very important in military. There are different missions that have to be completed in the form of a team. Respect should also be given to the military leaders who use the team. It is very important for the leaders to motivate and encourage their followers to respect their decisions and trust them that their decisions would bring about positive results (Army Field Manual, 2012). The followers should be shown that the leader's respects for them and the decisions taken are for the betterment of their actions. The most significant value that is taught in army is respect and is also regarded very high in the military conduct. There are different values that are taught to soldiers during their training as a soldier including duty, loyalty, selfless service, respect, integrity, honor, and personal courage. Out of all these values, respect is the most important value that is regarded very high by military personnel. Military respect is also referred to military courtesy in different cases. Military respect is referred to a very important and valuable code of conduct that is most valuable value in the code of conduct of military personnel. Military respect is an extended and formalized version of the courtesies and respect practiced and performed in everyday lives of the people. The main purpose of the adherence to respect in military is to reinforce chain of command and make discipline tighter. It is a way in which the soldiers would be treating superiors and the other way around.
